Renting a Luxury Car in Morocco: What You Need to Know

Renting a luxury car in Morocco is straightforward once you know the basics. Here's everything you need before you get behind the wheel.

Requirements

  • Driving licence: A valid licence from your home country is accepted for stays up to one year. International Driving Permits are recommended but rarely checked.
  • Minimum age: 21 for most vehicles, 25 for supercars.
  • Deposit: Goudoukh operates on a cash-at-pickup model — no credit card hold required.
  • Insurance

Every Goudoukh rental includes comprehensive coverage as standard. This covers third-party liability, collision damage, and theft protection. There are zero deductibles and no surprise charges.

For clients who want extra peace of mind, we offer a premium insurance upgrade that adds roadside assistance and personal accident cover.

    Driving Rules

  • Drive on the right. Morocco follows continental European conventions.
  • Speed limits: 60 km/h in cities, 100 km/h on national roads, 120 km/h on autoroutes.
  • Seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers.
  • Mobile phone use while driving is prohibited — hands-free only.
  • Alcohol limit: 0.02% — effectively zero tolerance. Do not drink and drive.
  • Fuel

Morocco uses unleaded petrol (essence) and diesel (gasoil). Premium unleaded is widely available. We deliver every car with a full tank and ask that you return it the same way — or we'll top it up at market rate.

    Tolls

The autoroute network connecting Marrakesh, Casablanca, Rabat, and Tangier is toll-based. Costs are modest — roughly 100–200 MAD for a Marrakesh–Casablanca run. Cash only at toll booths.

    What Goudoukh Handles

  • Airport or hotel handover and collection
  • 24/7 roadside assistance
  • Route planning and navigation setup
  • Secure parking arrangements in the medina
  • Child seat and GPS installation
  • Our goal is to make the rental invisible — so all you think about is the drive.
